TRON AML compliance questions
Everything about frozen USDT TRC20 addresses, TRON AML verification, risk scoring, sanctions screening and how AML Frozen works.
What is AML Frozen?
AML Frozen is a TRON network tool that checks a TRC20 wallet or USDT TRC20 address for frozen status and AML risk. It also screens for sanctions exposure, mixer usage and other on-chain risk indicators, then returns a report. The first check is free; every check after that is $1.
What does "frozen" mean for a TRON or USDT TRC20 address?
A frozen (or blacklisted) address is one that has been restricted at the token-contract level, so USDT it holds cannot be moved normally. The status is recorded on-chain, which is why it can be looked up from a public address.
Can I check whether a USDT TRC20 address is frozen or blacklisted?
Yes. Paste a TRON address into the scanner and choose Frozen Check or run a full AML Scan. The result shows the address's frozen status alongside its AML risk indicators.
How does Tether freeze USDT on TRON?
The USDT contract lets the issuer add an address to a blacklist, which blocks transfers of USDT from that address. Whether an address is on the list is visible on-chain, so it can be checked without any access to the wallet.
Why would a USDT TRC20 address be frozen?
Typical reasons are law-enforcement requests, sanctions compliance, or suspected illicit activity linked to the address. A lookup shows the status, but it cannot explain the reason behind a specific freeze.
Can AML Frozen unfreeze or recover frozen USDT?
No. AML Frozen is a read-only checking tool. It does not freeze, unfreeze, move, or recover funds, and it has no control over any address. Freeze decisions rest with the token issuer and the relevant authorities.
What should I do if my USDT address is frozen?
Keep the transaction records, contact the exchange or service you used, and reach out to the issuer's official support channel. If a crime is involved, report it to local law enforcement. Do not send more funds to the frozen address.
Are "unfreeze USDT" services legitimate?
Be very careful. No website, bot or private service can unfreeze a blacklisted address for a fee, and many such offers are scams that ask for deposits, seed phrases or wallet connections. Only the issuer can change a freeze.
Is a frozen status the same as a high AML risk score?
No. Frozen status is one signal, while the AML risk score combines sanctions results, mixer exposure, counterparty links and other indicators. An address can be frozen with a low overall score, or high-risk without being frozen.
Should I check an address before accepting a USDT TRC20 payment?
It is good practice. Checking the sender's address for frozen status and AML risk before you accept funds, release goods or credit an account helps you spot problems early and document your due diligence.
How does TRON AML risk scoring work?
AML Frozen analyzes the on-chain history of a TRON address, traces fund flows through the TRC20 transaction graph, screens counterparties against sanctions and watchlists, looks for mixer exposure, and combines the results into one risk score from 0 (clean) to 100 (high risk).
Does AML Frozen support USDT TRC20 and TRX?
Yes. It supports USDT TRC20 (Tether on TRON), native TRX and other TRC20 tokens. You can check wallet addresses and transaction hashes, and all token flows are analyzed together for the same address.
How much does a TRON AML check cost?
Your first check is free, no card required. Every check after that is a flat $1, pay-as-you-go with no subscription. API access and bulk screening are priced separately; contact us for a quote.
Is the first check really free?
Yes. Your first TRC20 check returns a full report at no cost and with no credit card. After that, each check is a flat $1, billed per use.
Do I need to connect a wallet to run a check?
No. AML Frozen never asks you to connect a wallet. You paste a public TRON address or transaction hash and run the check. There is no wallet-connect pop-up, no signing request and no transaction approval.
Does AML Frozen ever ask for a private key or seed phrase?
Never. A check only needs a public address or transaction hash. Private keys, seed phrases and wallet passwords are not required and should never be entered on any AML or freeze-checking website.
Where do the live TRX and USDT rates on this site come from?
Market rates are loaded from the public CoinGecko API. They are shown for convenience, for example to estimate what $1 is in TRX, and are not trading advice or a guaranteed execution price.
How often are the exchange rates updated?
Rates refresh automatically about once a minute while the page is open. If the rate service is temporarily unavailable, the page keeps working and shows the last known values until the next successful update.
What sanctions and watchlist sources does AML Frozen screen against?
Every scan screens the target TRON address and its counterparties against sanctions and watchlist data sources, including major government sanctions lists. Exact source coverage is listed in your account dashboard and API reference.
How fast is a check, and how current is the frozen status?
Most TRC20 wallet checks return within a few seconds, although very large histories take longer. Frozen status is read from public on-chain data, so it reflects the chain at the time of the check and can change afterwards.
What is included in the TRON AML report?
Each report includes the address and network (TRON / TRC20), frozen status, an AML risk score from 0 to 100, a risk category breakdown, the sanctions result, mixer exposure, a transaction flow summary and a timestamp. It can be exported as PDF or JSON.
Can I automate frozen and AML checks with an API?
Yes. AML Frozen provides a REST API for single address checks and batch requests, with JSON results, plus webhook alerts for monitored wallets. Contact us for documentation and access.
Who should use AML Frozen?
Anyone handling TRON or USDT TRC20 who needs to assess counterparty risk: exchanges, payment processors, OTC desks, P2P traders, merchants accepting USDT, fintech platforms, and individuals verifying an address before a large transfer.
Can AML Frozen detect TRON mixer usage?
The scan looks for on-chain patterns consistent with TRON mixing and obfuscation, and traces downstream exposure where flagged funds appear in the analyzed transaction graph, not only in direct transfers.
Is AML Frozen aligned with FATF virtual asset guidance?
The report structure follows FATF-style virtual asset risk categories such as sanctions exposure, mixer usage and high-risk counterparties, to support customer due diligence. It does not replace your own compliance program or legal advice.
What is the difference between direct and indirect sanctions exposure?
Direct exposure means the checked address itself appears on a sanctions list. Indirect exposure means it has transacted with a sanctioned entity somewhere in the analyzed graph. The report states which type, if any, was found.
Can I check TRON DeFi wallets and smart contracts?
Yes. You can scan externally owned TRON wallet addresses, including ones that use TRON DeFi protocols. For contract addresses, the report focuses on counterparty risk based on the wallets that funded or interacted with the contract.
How does TRON address monitoring work?
Monitoring subscribes a TRC20 wallet for ongoing review of new activity. You get an email or webhook alert if it interacts with a flagged address, and the service can also notify you when its frozen status changes.
Are AML Frozen reports accepted by regulators?
Reports include the details commonly requested in due diligence records: address, network, frozen status, risk score with breakdown, sanctions result and a timestamp. Requirements differ by jurisdiction, so confirm with your compliance advisor.
Is a low risk score a guarantee that a wallet is safe?
No. A low score means no flagged patterns were found in the analyzed on-chain data at the time of the check. It is one input to your due diligence, not a guarantee, and risk can change as new activity or intelligence appears.
Does AML Frozen protect user privacy?
AML Frozen analyzes publicly available on-chain TRON data. No private keys or wallet connections are involved, and scan results are tied to your account and not shared publicly.
How does TRON AML compliance differ from Ethereum AML?
The core checks are the same: sanctions screening, mixer detection and counterparty risk. TRON adds its own patterns, such as very high USDT TRC20 volume, low fees that make rapid layering cheap, and an account-activation model unlike Ethereum's.
What is the Travel Rule and does AML Frozen support it?
The Travel Rule is the FATF requirement for VASP-to-VASP transfers above a threshold to carry originator and beneficiary information. Enterprise plans can support Travel Rule workflows for TRON VASPs; contact us for details.
Is there a limit to how many TRON addresses I can check?
No hard limit on pay-as-you-go: each check after your free first one is $1. For higher volumes, bulk and API plans offer better per-check pricing; contact us for a quote based on your expected volume.
How do I get started with AML Frozen?
Paste a TRC20 wallet address, USDT TRC20 address or transaction hash into the scanner above and run your free first check. No wallet connection is needed, and no card is required for the first scan.
